An exciting new opportunity has arisen due to company growth, for a graduate to join us as a Tax Analyst. This position, along with a generous salary, offers the chance for you to obtain your ACCA and/or ATT/CTA qualifications through study support.
This is a fantastic graduate training role, that offers supportive one to one mentorship in the commercially focussed tax department of a significant multinational organisation, with exposure to a wide range of disciplines and multiple jurisdictions. With study support and the opportunity for placements in other functions this role is an ideal platform to begin your tax career in in industry.
This is a new role, based at our Stoke Poges site near Slough. The Tax Analyst will assist the International Tax Team in delivering on the Group’s overseas and cross border tax compliance obligations whilst supporting the International Tax Team’s advisory role as a business partner.
What will your day look like?
As part of a team responsible for global indirect taxes, customs duties, property taxes and environmental levies in addition to Corporate Income taxes and transfer pricing, the Tax Analyst will have the opportunity to develop experience in a wide range of areas. In addition, the Tax Analyst will have a specific responsibility for the Tax Departments use of technology, reviewing existing processes and identifying and implementing improvements.
• Prepare aspects of UK corporation tax returns while supporting advisor preparation of overseas tax returns.
• Support implementation and documentation of transfer pricing policies.
• Prepare UK and overseas VAT returns and advise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams on the treatment of invoices.
• Act as Tax Department technology lead, identifying opportunities to improve use of technology to reduce risk, enable opportunities and/or streamline work.
• Support Deputy Head of Tax and Tax Manager on advisory projects, conducting independent research into areas of tax legislation.
• Support compliance and optimisation of a wide range of other taxes and levies, for example, business rates, property tax, climate change levy, excise taxes, withholding taxes etc.
• Study towards tax/accountancy qualifications.
What do you need to be great at this role?
• Educated to degree level
• Competency with MS Office, in particular Excel
• No prior experience in tax is necessary, however the successful candidate will be curious with a genuine desire to learn about Urenco, develop a technical knowledge of tax, and work collaboratively with both the team and the wider business.
