We are looking for a school/college leaver who is interested in finance and accounting specifically, and who would like to embark on their very first job role. Full training and apprenticeship support will be given.

Vital Human Resources Ltd (Vital), is a member of Morson Group and a dedicated recruitment business. Our three operating divisions, Vital Rail, Vital Resources and Vital Solutions, deliver high calibre blue-collar and white-collar Personnel to the Rail sector.

Vital are offering a new apprentice scheme, and the chance to grow and learn within our accounts team. We have an opening for a Purchase Ledger Apprentice!

Responsible to: Finance Director
Job Base: The Mill, Manchester
NVQ: Sponsored Level Two AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
Course Length: 12 months
Salary: Apprentice Rate (£4.81 an hour) £9,379.5 per year.
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours a week. 9:00am – 5:00pm.


The prime responsibilities of this role are to assist Accounts Payable and Management Accounts. Some of your typical duties will include:


Key Tasks
• Receiving and processing supplier invoices.
• Receiving and processing staff expenses.
• Entering invoices onto Peoplesoft ERP.
• Ensuring invoices are authorised and coded correctly.
• Reconciliation of supplier statements
• Administration of purchase orders for fleet department
• Scanning and archiving of documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR.
