About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Human Resource Outsource Team, as a Payroll Technician. This person will support the effective and accurate processing of payroll and benefits ensuring deadlines are met, provide an efficient and effective administration support service whilst complying with company policies, procedures, and payroll legislation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Outsource Payroll Manager with the processing of all end to end monthly client payrolls
• Assist with the updating of workday, the HR & Payroll system, with pay related information
• Administer and check all statutory payments such as SMP, SPP and SSP
• Facilitate and manage the overpayment process within a payroll function
• Provide excellent customer service and advise to employees and external bodies, such as HMRC and DWP, on general payroll queries via telephone and email
• Manage onboarding process for new starters, checking all aspects completed prior to start date
• Issue final payslips and P45’s to leavers
• Liaise and communicate with senior figures within the business
• Process starters/leavers and monthly contributions for pension schemes
• Administration of all staff benefit schemes
• Produce any ad hoc reports for various stakeholders and clients


About You:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within Payroll
• Up to date with current payroll legislation
• Good knowledge of pensions
• Experience using Workday packages preferred
• Working within a high-volume environment
• Good timekeeping and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Always maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Able to work independently but also be part of the team
• Highly numerate, analytical mind-set and has high attention to detail
• Strong Excel skills

Qualification:

• Intermediate MS skills
• Degree or relevant professional qualification
• CIPP qualification advantageous
